Hydrogen peroxide (more appropriately hydrogen dioxide) is one of the most misunderstood and neglected substances on the market. So much fear surrounds such a wonderful healing aid. Like many substances that cannot be patented, those who wish to keep the current medical paradigm in place have surrounded hydrogen peroxide with disinformation and fear campaigns to no end. So let’s take a look at the dangers and the healing properties.
A BRIEF HISTORY
H2O2 was first isolated in 1818 by a French chemist, but it was in 1863 when it was proved that rain water contained hydrogen peroxide, which was the Earth’s way of sterilizing itself. Because the ozone consists of 3 oxygen atoms, it is highly unstable. Thus, ozone is eager to give up its extra oxygen molecule to falling rain water to go from H2O to H2O2.
H2O2 has a long history of sterilization that includes the medical industry, laboratory sterilization, as well as sterilization in aeronautics.
H2O2 is widely regarded in Europe as an antimicrobial agent and is used as a disinfectant to clean surgical wounds, to sanitize hospital rooms and equipment, as well as ambulances. It is also used to combat the MRSA virus.
Our white blood cells naturally produce hydrogen peroxide. In fact, our cells’ ability to do so is essential for life as our cells use it to oxidize any foreign invaders. Vitamin C also helps fight infection by producing H2O2. When ingesting H202, the oxygen in our body dramatically increases; not because of the added oxygen molecule but because it stimulates enzymes throughout the body. Now we must make a clear distinction. There are various grades of hydrogen peroxide depending on your desired use. The only grade that is acceptable for internal consumption is food-grade.
Food-grade hydrogen peroxide typically comes in 35% strength, the rest being distilled water. This is the only grade that contains no impurities or additives. Make sure the product specifically states that it is food-grade.
The 3% solution that one would typically find at any commercial store or pharmacy is loaded with stabilizers that are chemicals you do not want to ingest (phenol, acetanilide, tetrasodium phosphate, sodium stanate). Although many claim this traditional pharmaceutical grade H2O2 product is ok to use topically or as a mouth wash, I would not recommend it simply due to the fact that it contains added toxins. Instead, you can mix 1 part 35% food-grade H2O2 with 11 parts water (distilled, RO, or spring). This will give you a cheaper and safer 3% mixture.

DANGERS
Although the 35% food-grade solution is the only acceptable grade to ingest, it must be diluted in order to do so. 35% is a much too strong of an oxidizer to ingest and is generally too strong to use topically. If not diluted, it can be extremely hazardous and even fatal if ingested. Even solutions over 10% can harm the sensitive gastrointestinal tract.
A 26 month old female swallowed one mouthful of 35% H202. She immediately began vomiting, followed by fainting and respiratory arrest. Fortunately, she was under emergency room care and although she experienced erosion and bleeding of the stomach and esophagus, she survived the incident. When she was re-examined 12 days later, the areas involved had healed (J Toxicol Clin Toxicol 90;28(1):95-100).
If 35% food-grade H2O2 comes in heavy contact with the skin, it is best to flush with water. It will likely turn your skin white for a half hour or so and may itch. It will not burn your skin or cause any long term effects, but you will find it beneficial to rinse it off if you happen to come in contact with large amounts at 35% solution.
Individuals who have had transplants should not undertake an H202 program. H202 stimulates the immune system and could possibly cause a rejection of the organ.
PROPER STORAGE
Handle 35% food grade H2O2 carefully, store it properly, and dilute before use.
When stored under the proper conditions, H202 is a very stable compound. When kept in the absence of light and contaminants, it breaks down very slowly at the rate of about 10% a year. This can be slowed even further by storing the liquid in the freezer. Keep away from children.
SUGGESTED DOSAGE FOR INTERNAL CONSUMPTION
The following protocol is a general outline that has been followed and suggested by many thousands of people. It can be slightly modified to fit the individual.
Mix the following number of drops of 35% food-grade H2O2 with a glass of water. Make sure NOT to use chlorinated tap water. Use distilled, RO, or spring water instead. H2O2 should be taken on an empty stomach at least 1 hour before a meal and at least 3 hours after a meal.

When your specific health problem is gone, a good maintenance dosage is anywhere between 5-20 drops once a week.
A FEW OTHER HEALTH USES
Hydrogen Peroxide As Nasal Wash
Rest your head back and spray or drop a 1:1 (50/50) mix of 3% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide and distilled water into the nose during a cold or blocked sinuses. Wait for a moment or 2 and then blow your nose into a tissue. This helps to clear the bacteria and/or virus causing the symptoms.
You can also use the same solution to clear ears and treat infections.
Hydrogen Peroxide For The First Signs Of a Cold
Lie down, turn your head to the side and put a few drops of 3% Food Grade Hydrogen Peroxide into your ear. Leave for a few minutes while it bubbles and then turn your head and wipe with a tissue. Repeat for the other ear.
Hydrogen Peroxide As a Foot Soak
Combine 100ml-200ml of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide with a few tablespoons of Epsom Salts to a bowl of warm water. This helps cuts, calluses, scaly skin and athletes foot.
Hydrogen Peroxide As A Bath Soak
Use 280ml-560ml of 35% Hydrogen Peroxide to a full bath. You can also add 1/2 a cup of Epsom salts for a detox soak. Please be aware that using this highly oxygenating soak can keep you aware so you may wish to avoid doing it shortly before bedtime.
Hydrogen Peroxide For Dental Hygiene
You can use 3% Hydrogen Peroxide to soak toothbrushes and kill germs.
Hydrogen Peroxide As a Mouthwash
You can use a 1:1 (50/50) mixture of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide and distilled water. This will also help fight oral diseases and whiten teeth.
Hydrogen Peroxide As a Body Spray
You can simply use a 3% strength Hydrogen Peroxide and spray on lightly.
Hydrogen Peroxide As a Facial Cleanser
Just use 3% Hydrogen Peroxide and apply to face after washing and before bed using cottom wool.
Hydrogen Peroxide As a Natural Toothpaste
Combine 1/4 cup of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide with a 1/2 cup of Bicarbonate of Sodium (Sodium BiCarbonate aka Baking Soda) Store in a opaque container so that light cannot decompose the Hydrogen Peroxide.
